The Myth of Stress : Where Stress Really Comes From and How to Live a Happier and Healthier Life by Andrew Bernstein

THE MYTH OF STRESS :  WHERE STRESS REALLY COMES FROM AND HOW TO LIVE A HAPPIER AND HEALTHIER LIFE BY ANDREW BERNSTEIN

Where does stress come from? Financial pressures? Looming deadlines? Conflicts at work or at home? For more than half a century, we’ve been told that stress comes from circumstances like these, that it’s a by-product of our ancestors’ fight-or-flight response to danger, and that the best we can do, given the fast pace of life today, is to breathe, try to relax, and accept that life is hard.

All of this, according to Andrew Bernstein, is wrong. Spurred by the death of several family members when he was young, Bernstein began a quest to understand the real dynamics of stress and resilience. He eventually realized that stress doesn’t come from your circumstances–it comes from your thoughts about your circumstances. More specifically, stress is created by a particular kind of thought that humans happen to excel at.

Seeing this, Bernstein realized that the antidote to stress–and the key to far greater resilience–is not exercise or physical relaxation, but finding these stress-producing thoughts and finally dismantling them. He created a process called ActivInsight that helps you–and the people you care about–do this on your own in just seven steps, often yielding life-changing breakthroughs in a matter of minutes.

With seismic shifts in the global economy and a world health crisis affecting how we work, travel, and live, stress has become a common aspect of everyday life. Yet, nearly every available stress-reduction plan is based on a misconception—that stress is triggered by our circumstances.

Research has shown that outside stressors do not actually trigger the physical and emotional reactions related to stress. In other words, stress comes from your thoughts about your circumstances. More specifically, stress is created by a particular kind of thinking that humans happen to excel at. Using a program developed by Andrew Bernstein called ActivInsight you will discover how to change these patterns of thinking. Effectively used by major corporations, The Myth of Stress reveals a simple seven step guide that can help you through some of the most challenging experiences of modern life in a matter of minutes.

With compassion, intelligence, and humor, The Myth of Stress offers a complete reeducation in the nature of stress, permanently changing the way you relate to challenges–at school, at work, and at home–in order to live a happier and healthier life.

Loving What Is : Four Questions That Can Change Your Life by Byron Katie and Stephen Michell

LOVING WHAT IS : FOUR QUESTIONS THAT CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE
BY BYRON KATIE AND STEPHEN MICHELL

In the midst of a normal life, Katie became increasingly depressed, and over a ten-year period sank further into rage, despair, and thoughts of suicide. Then one morning, she woke up in a state of absolute joy, filled with the realization of how her own suffering had ended. The freedom of that realization has never left her, and now in Loving What Is you can discover the same freedom through The Work.

The Work is simply four questions that, when applied to a specific problem, enable you to see what is troubling you in an entirely different light. As Katie says, “It’s not the problem that causes our suffering; it’s our thinking about the problem.” Contrary to popular belief, trying to let go of a painful thought never works; instead, once we have done The Work, the thought lets go of us. At that point, we can truly love what is, just as it is.

Loving What Is will show you step-by-step, through clear and vivid examples, exactly how to use this revolutionary process for yourself. You’ll see people do The Work with Katie on a broad range of human problems, from a wife ready to leave her husband because he wants more sex, to a Manhattan worker paralyzed by fear of terrorism, to a woman suffering over a death in her family. Many people have discovered The Work’s power to solve problems; in addition, they say that through The Work they experience a sense of lasting peace and find the clarity and energy to act, even in situations that had previously seemed impossible.

If you continue to do The Work, you may discover, as many people have, that the questioning flows into every aspect of your life, effortlessly undoing the stressful thoughts that keep you from experiencing peace. Loving What Is offers everything you need to learn and live this remarkable process, and to find happiness as what Katie calls “a lover of reality.”

DIE EMPTY – UNLEASH YOUR BEST WORK EVERYDAY – TODD HENRY

DIE EMPTY – UNLEASH YOUR BEST WORK EVERYDAY – TODD HENRY

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL THOUGHT!

Die empty

The most beautiful book to read is “Die Empty” by Todd Henry.

The author was inspired and got this idea of writing this book while attending a business meeting.

When the director asked the audience: “Where is the richest land in the world?”

One of the audience answered: “Oil-rich Gulf states.”

Another added: “Diamond mines in Africa.”

Then the director said: “No it is the cemetery. Yes, it is the richest land in the world, because millions of people have departed/died and they carried many valuable ideas that did not come to light nor benefit others. It is all in the cemetery where they are buried.”

Inspired by this answer, Todd Henry wrote his book, “Die empty .

The most beautiful of what he said in his book is: “Do not go to your grave and carry inside you the best that you have.
 Always choose to die empty.

The TRUE meaning of this  expression, is to die empty of all the goodness that is within you. Deliver it to the world, before you leave.

If you have an idea perform it.
If you have knowledge give it out.
If you have a goal achieve it.
Love, share and distribute, do not keep it inside.

Let’s begin to give. Remove and spread every atom of goodness inside us.

Start the race.
     Let us Die Empty.

“A must-read for anyone interested in moving from inspiration to action” – Cal Newport, author of So Good

They Can’t Ignore You Most of us fill our days with frantic activity, bouncing from task to task, scrambling to make deadlines and chase the next promotion. But by the end of each day we’re often left wondering if any of it really mattered.
We feel the ticking of the clock but we’re unsure of the path forward. Die Empty is a tool for people who aren’t willing to put off their most important work for another day.

Todd Henry explains the forces that lead to stagnation and introduces practices that will keep you on a true and steady course. The key is embracing the idea that time is finite, so you should focus on the unique contribution to the world that only you can make.

Henry shows how to sustain your enthusiasm, push through mental barriers and unleash your best work each day.

The Conqueror ( The Thrilling Tale of the King Who Mastered the Seas ( Rajendra Chola I)

THE CONQUEROR ( THE THRILLING TALE OF THE KING WHO MASTERED THE SEAS (RAJENDRA CHOLA I)

Historians have covered our history in just 200 years, while they never told us that there was a king who had women commanders in his army and who, with the help of his powerful boats with a powerful Navy, took over all of Southeast Asia.  Was captured …

Rajendra Chola I (1012-1044) a great ruler of our history who was involved in the conspiracies of leftist historians …….

Rajendra Chola was the greatest ruler of the Chola dynasty, he expanded the Chola empire by his victories and made it the most powerful empire of South India.  Rajendra Chola was the only king who not only waved his conquests to other places but spread a wonderful system of architecture and administration to the places where he ruled ……!

In 1017 AD, this powerful hero of ours had defeated the mighty King Mahendra V of Sinhala (Sri Lanka) and captured the entire Sinhala (Sri Lanka) ……!

While many great kings could not dare to advance with their army by reaching the mouth of the rivers, Rajendra Chola formed a powerful navy with the help of easily crossing every huge river that came in his way……

Due to this navy, Rajendra Chola also established his authority on the island named Sadimantiq in the Arabian Sea. Even with the help of his deadly warships, Rajendra I had captured Java, Sumatra and Maldives by destroying the army of many kings.  ……!

After establishing his empire on a vast territory, he (Gangai Koda) built a new capital called Cholapuram, where he built a huge artificial lake which was sixteen miles long and three miles wide.  This lake is considered one of the largest man-made lakes in the history of India.  Ganga water was brought from Bengal in that lake ..!

On the one hand, despite the severe famine during the reign of Shah Jahan in Agra, historians continued to fill the pages of history in his praise, on the other hand, the history of Rajendra Chola under which South India was representing prosperity and glory in Asia.  The books were silenced under a conspiracy ……!

Even the Bay of Bengal, which is the largest bay in the world, its ancient name was Chola Lake, it continued to convey the greatness of Chola under its name, later it was changed to Kalinga Sea and then Bengal was replaced by the British.  Converted into the Bay of Bengal, left historians always conspired to destroy the history of our heroes and taught about the Mughal invaders who destroyed our temples and culture, including some women on the post of commander in Rajendra Chola’s army  Thi, centuries later, there was a time of the Mughals when women went behind the scenes …..!

Many of us do not know about the Chola dynasty and their contribution to the motherland.

India’s training ship T S Jawahar was named in his honor.

SALT KILLS BY SHANTANU REDDY NERAVETLA AND SURENDER REDDY NERAVETLA

SALT KILLS BY SHANTANU REDDY NERAVETLA AND SURENDER REDDY NERAVETLA
Dr. Neravetla along with his son spent hundreds of hours researching the effects of salt and has well documented his findings, directing you to websites that will give you more information and cement the fact that high salt consumption causes all kinds of health problems. Even some you might not have know beforehand.

Here’s a basic outline of what is covered in this book, the first of a series:
High blood pressure
The heart and blood vessels
Health issues other than heart related – ex. dementia
A plan to cut salt from your diet
Frequently asked questions
A glossary of terms

Salt causes high blood pressure, which in turn causes heart problems, but it’s also linked with the following:
dementia
asthma
obesity
osteoporosis
stomach cancer

He explains how salt is linked to each health issue. No one wants any cancer, but stomach cancer is definitely one cancer you do not want. By the time it’s diagnosed in most cases it’s already too late to cure. You eventually end up not even able to swallow your own saliva. That’s terrifying.

He spends the last chapter outlining a plan for cutting salt from your diet. There’s salt in basically every food we eat, but he lists ten foods that are in his words, “The Top Ten Most Unwanted.” He explains it takes most people three months to completely eliminate salt from their diet, but because salt is not addictive, it can easily be done. You won’t experience withdrawal like people do when they try to stop smoking.

The number of cardiovascular deaths is greater than the number of deaths from every type of cancer combined. That’s alarming. How many of us know someone who has had cancer, currently has cancer, or has died from cancer? I bet every single one of us know someone personally who has suffered from cancer itself or the effects of cancer. Not to mention if you’ve had it yourself. As many people as we know affected by this disease doesn’t even stack up to the number of people dying from cardiovascular disease every year.

The good news is that lowering or better yet eliminating salt from your diet can prevent all of the problems listed above. And it’s completely feasible. It is  highly recommend you grab a copy of this book and once you’ve read it and have seen the pictures, you’ll want to immediately cut salt from your life, too.

COVID 19 AND NEW LIFE STYLE BY TARUN SHRIVASTAVA

COVID-19 AND NEW LIFE STYLE
 By Tarun Shrivastava, Nagpur

The world has been taken by storm with the beginning of COVID-19 novel corona virus affecting almost all countries in the beginning of 2020. Most of the countries have been fighting and battling the new war in their own ways. I have more or less concluded that this virus is going to stay and we have to develop new way of life style in every sphere of life.

Any virus, require a vaccine to counter its effect. With the world working round the clock sharing each other’s experiments is working hard to examine the solutions. The estimate life size of any vaccine development is always going to be another six to eight month or may be one year. By this time the novel corona must have taken many derivative shapes. Thus, the challenge of living with Covid-19 is going to be around us.

We must now accept these facts, and design a new life style and protocol in every business and personal life too. We must learn to live with social distancing, frequent hand washing, wearing mask, using Aarogya Setu App etc.  Change is inevitable and thus, we must learn to unlearn many things including certain customs and manner in which we were functioning and adapt to the new methods and rituals.

With so many negatives of the virus, let us also look at the opportunity which it has come to fore that needs to be recognized and tapped. The people are now going to recognize the importance of digitization and modernization. We will learn new method of doing business using electronic and automation. Extra ordinary situations will lead to extra ordinary solutions.  Thus, life will have to adopt and move on with this extra ordinary situation and help build a new mankind.

The lockdowns all over the world gave many opportunities to individual to look back or so to say “Sharpening the Saw”. We need to introspect what are the (only) important requirements for mankind while sustainably balancing the environment which was always at receiving end due to unprecedented and unplanned growth.

I hope that we accept the novel corona virus into our stride and work toward building a new tomorrow and making it brighter than ever.
